It's interesting that Keith brought up Peter Dinklage on Destiny. Critics and consumers of the game were so unhappy with Dinklage's performance that the games developers just recently released a mandatory patch that erases all traces of Peter Dinklage and replace him with a more emotive actor.

Also Chemda bringing up the sound track of the game... there was mad drama regarding the composer and the creators of the game. Super perceptive.

It's only been a week and I miss Dinklebot already. I think his performance works because you're going to hear his lines hundreds of times so if they were too chirpy I think it could get annoying. Something about his delivery put me in that "I'm playing Destiny" comfort zone, it's hard getting used to Nolan North now.

And there is no way in hell that Dinklage got a million for his VO work. And I severely doubt that he had to redo his lines, the thing that your researcher found might have been relating to how the story was edited before release.

If Keith is playing this, I look forward to rants about how expensive the game is with the DLC because that's all people seem to talk about while studiously ignoring the fact that this game is THE SHIT.

yeah I really want to know if Keith had the game before or just bought it with the Taken King expansion and if he plans to buy Destiny 2 which is already in production

When I earned a gjallahorn, I threw it right in the fuckin' garbage.

I'm surprised so many people reacted the way they did to Peter Dinklage's performance... It just seemed like regular video game robot voice. But I've become so cynical with games most of the time I consume them is by watching let's plays on youtube.

I wonder what direction was given to Dinklage? I honestly think that the performance they originally used was the one they really wanted. A way of pandering; "Hey look, the dude from the show you like is in our game. Just listen to how clearly you can hear its him. Buy our game!"

Completely agree. I never even got far enough to get the Gwhateverhorn. Probably the game that most disappointed me in recent memory.

I agree with this. I think they probably wanted him to keep his performance fairly flat to fit the whole robot thing. I didn't find it as offensive as the rest of the game being a complete fucking snoozefest. I think they mostly caved under the pressure of players screaming about it because most people seemed to think it was total garbage. I wanted to play them some clips of the voice-acting we used to get way back when the whole video game voice-acting thing started.
