BYU is Brigham Young University. It's a morman college. So while she got them in the end she got them, she also gave 4 years of tuition to a school that didn't want her there. It's the same as when you hear a kid get kicked out of high school, then find out it was a private catholic school. Those schools suck and play by thier own rules. If you go there and expect it to be any different, you haven't been paying attention.

Fair point. I was going on the assumption that the was the school she chose first, but it may have been her best option.

BYU is a VERY difficult private school to get accepted into and is owned by the Mormon church. It was not "all she could get"...it is the Holey Grail for LDS kids. I think your guest hit the nail on the head when he pointed out that the school's policy is against Homosexual public displays of affection, NOT against just being gay. As per how there was no ramifications for displaying homosexual pride at the graduation ceremony. "but she already had her diploma, what could they do?" For anyone who has graduated college you will no the diploma comes in the mail weeks/months later and can easily be withheld for non-compliance/non-payment etc. This is their choice as a private institution and also as a protected religious institution. If you were familiar with BYU you would know their "Y" on the hill is often painted in rainbow colors and trans colors and there is one of the largest gay parade things in the country in UT...kinda woulda thought Chemda would know this given her ex's intimate knowledge of all this.



On the abortion front...did anyone actually read the opinion from the SCOTUS? I tend to agree with the argument about relying on a court case of precedent that relied on previous precedent based on court decisions is a piss poor way to practice "law" and that a federal law is the proper vehicle to deal with the question of legality of abortion. Thus giving it the protection it deserves under the 14th amendment, which I believe was what Keith hinted at when he hit the "state's rights" point. As a digression, just wondering why you feel the 14th amendment should apply for abortion but not for other specific laws and even constitutional freedoms?

So the right path in line w/ the opinion that leaked...which the leak in and of itself is probably the worst thing about all this not the content of the leak per say but that is a different subject which no one seems to care that they are interfering with the discussion and opinion formation process etc...is for congress to properly right a bill and push it through to law.

Speaking of congress...did you guys forget they existed when discussing how the minority in the senate make all the rules??? At a more fundamental than even that did you forget all about the simple fact that the USA is a Democratic Republic...thus the whole constitution thing...so mob rule isn't the design, you silly pants.
