18 years ago, my sister's friend (who was 18, about to go to university) got pregnant, not with a regular boyfriend, just an accident. At the end of quite a drunken (for me) party, she freaked me out by asking what she should do with the baby.

I told her she should keep it, not because i was anti-abortion at the time, but because I knew her and liked her, and knew she make a good mother.

Whether on my advice or not, she kept the baby.

I went out for a pint with her son last week, yeah I know he's under-age, but he's a big lad. And he's clever, popular, going to University himself next month.

That's the reason I'm anti-abortion, even though I'm "liberal" on every other issue.

Even if there's even only a slight chance that I had an influence on the decision, it's awesome that I may be responsible for this kid being alive.

The reason im 'pro-abortion' is due to the fact that around 70-80% of all conceptions (sperm in egg) are failures. 50% are in fact not even detected beforehand, the rest are miscarriages. the whole killing a life thing is a load.

I don't get why the hell this still has to be a subject of discussion. It is like wondering if slavery should be allowed again. You must be an extremist religious retard to force someone to keep an unwanted child.

Yeah, also, as Bill Hicks pointed out, most guys wipe out entire civilisations every night by jerking off.

But as far as my story goes, the girl was definitely pregnant, and was definitely thinking of an abortion. She could have killed him when he was a foetus, but try asking her now if she made the right choice. If she had an abortion, he would never have lived, so "killing" is not too strong a word in my opinion.

This is the one issue that I feel really strongly about and is at odds with most of my other beliefs.

Basically, if you're old enough to WILLINGLY let someone put their penis in your vagina, AND ejaculate up there, then you should look after any kid which results from it. If you think you're grown up enough to do the first thing, then you should be prepared to deal with the second.

I'm not rabidly "pro-life", but it saddens me when women see a termination as a slight inconvenience which they have to take a day off work for.

However, this is just my opinion, and I respect everyone else's beliefs also.
