I like to stay in and not do anything. I drive 1hr20mins to work in the morning, 2.5hrs home in the afternoon. I'm not trying to spend my time off traveling, fuck that, I'm cool just chilling on the couch

Hey, Chemda!
Long time listener.. Sorry it's taken this long to finally post.. I'm sorry to hear that you're leaving the show. But couldn't be happier to hear that you're considering Thailand as the destination for your next chapter! I've had a lot of experience and great memories from there. I've been fortunate enough to have an opportunity to visit all of Southeast Asia for work. (videographer/animator/editor) Since my first visit in 2011 I knew that Thailand was something special. Between the cost of living, attitude and friendliness of the locals, things to do, and I have to mention they have hands down, the best street food in the world... full stop. I understand the stigma that it has regarding sex tourism, but that would be like writing off all of America for insurance fraud or something. Thailand has so much to offer and you'll find whatever you're looking for but for some reason people fixate on that one thing when it's an issue in just about every country. I work with a fight promotion that that leans into the perceived grit and sketchiness us foreigners have about Thailand (Think Kickboxer or bloodsport).. Kind of like the way people think of New York in the 80s even though it's not that anymore. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsgH0xGsgDU https://www.fullmetaldojo.com/ https://www.fightcircus.tv/ I could go on for days about how much better Thailand is than my hometown of Toronto Canada but I won't. Also do plan on retiring there at somepoint. Until then, I am however happy to help you guys with any questions or recommendations you might have about the land of smiles. Bangkok can be a lot for your first taste, I'd recommend looking for accommodations in Phuket, (Rawai is beautiful) It's similar to Maui, or Chang Mai which is more jungle/village vibe deep in the mainland. There are a lot of Facebook groups for long and short term rentals that might something you're interested in. BTW, I had a bundle of stickers from you guys I pasted all over Asia in 2011, hope that brought in a few more listeners ![]() Cheers' Tony Last edited by hardStance; 12-01-2023 at 02:50 PM. |

Thank you for the Thai info. I think in general I am making sure that I know the rules so I’m not the asshole American that gets themselves in trouble.
Yes I am still living and planning with Xerxes. Just trying in general to talk about myself and leave people’s stories for them to share. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
