I was listening to some old pods (already cued up in software and couldn't move them to a new handset) from around the Jan 6th insurrection, sorry I mean celebration, on the lead-up to the election and was absolutely confident in my little observation bubble over the pond that Trump was toast this time round. Was he really that much more convincing if you didn't just get served videos of him talking about how the economy would be the best and that he will put 6000% tariffs on everything to make money?

Maybe you guys need a bit of what we got with Liz Truss and everything his administration touches turns to literal shit so that the voters turn away from the republicans the next time, though we at least were able to change things up in a month once it started going sideways with increasing speed.

I think he won because the media was talking about him 10 times more than about her. People were like this: "I don't know her but he seems to be important." Or something similar to that..
