3921: In the Name of Love w/ MeMe Cherry
It’s the return of the thought-provoking, hilarious, and socially active podcaster MeMe Cherry! MeMe joins Keith to help discuss Pride Month, what you can do about it in 2025, and the world’s latest series of UNfortunate events. The duo also discusses the closing of Diddy’s trial, Will Smith taking back his apologies to us and Chris Rock, and TV shows that Keith apparently loves to hate. (Yes, The Bear and Squid Game are back.)

I saw a cute coverup that had the colors of the flag on it. I really wanted it because it looked comfortable but I didn’t buy it because I didn’t want to risk looking like one of the MAGA cult members. It is a shame that the symbol of the flag has changed.

I appreciate Keith being blunt about Diddy soccer ball kicking Cassie’s head. I hate when people sugar coat shit to make it more palatable for them. And I’m not talking about making it easier for victims, I’m talking about the people who want to defend abusers and act like things don’t happen. I hate when the news reports “sex with a minor” instead of raping a child-what actually happened. People need to understand the gravity of what happened.
When I was on a jury for a murder trial it lasted three days and we were also allowed to get home. I took the do not look anything up or talk to anyone very seriously, I treated it like HIPPA. I didn’t want to do anything to delay justice. Also, I love my husband so much-but he is a big gossip so I didn’t say anything to him until after we reached a verdict. We the jury were told we could talk to each other about the case as long as 1. Every person including the alternates were in the room when we talked about it and 2. We didn’t come to any conclusions yet. And we all took it seriously. It was hard at times but we corrected ourselves and tried to come to a consensus about questions we had and hoped to have answered in future evidence/testimony. It was interesting that none of us were asked if we could handle seeing graphic/violent images. We weren’t warned when all of a sudden we are seeing a man dying on a body camera nor that the autopsy photons were coming up. We all understood that we were going to see graphic things given it was a murder trial for a murder that happened in 2023, so the likelihood of video/pictures being presented in 4k was very high. It is still startling to see a dead man on a screen inches from your face, and everywhere you look in the room there are screens with the images. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh I know. I was excited to be there but didn’t say that when the judge asked because I didn’t want to come across as a crazy true crime person. I learned a lot about the Indiana justice system. Also I found out why some verdicts come back as not guilty when it seems like it should be guilty. One of the jury instructions we received was that we are to presume innocence. And if the vote is 50/50 then we HAD to presume innocence. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
