Brilliant, Kyle. Your view on the Las Vegas music scene was dead on. Awesome all in all.

Yep, good job both you guys. Knowing your background and the fact you take lyrics so seriously makes your lyrics more intriguing too Kyle. I normally don't pay too much attention to lyrics myself (on either end - whether I'm writing them or listening to them) but knowing someone puts a lot of effort and importance into them makes me notice them more, and yours I like. So it's win-win. Rock on.

The type of rock that Kyle cites as his inspiration usually is VERY connected to the Lyrics.
Brand New, Thrice, The Tragically Hip, The Features or my latest darlings The Mountain Goats, generally have a central figure that writes the music and the lyrics, usually baring his soul in 'em. That's what makes their fan connect so much with them. If you hear Jesse Lacey (Brand New) singing: "Do you believe you're missing out That everything good is happening somewhere else? But with nobody in your bed The night's hard to get through" it's hard to forget it. PS: There's a good chance that on september, while watching and feeling The Mountain Goats live, i will tear up like a queer. That's how it works. |
