I know only my friends and family would care if I died. At least most of them. I sure don't expect people to be leaving flowers and cards on my doorstep.

Because people feel connected to him through the movies he made. Who really knows why death makes us sad. It's weird when you think about it. If you didn't really know the person, why does it matter? I think it just makes us think about mortality in general. And people feel sad for his little daughter too I suppose.

Um, yes I do care. I would be sad to hear that you died and left little children without a father. Seriously.

But honestly, I wasn't that bothered that HL died. I think it is sad that he seems to have taken his own life and his family have to deal with that now, but I didn't cry about it.
