I think prostitution should be legalized if it could be competently regulated. I don't know if it could get the support it would need with the stigma and conflicting interests involved. I think it would have to come from a therapeutic approach to be accepted and would end up being either over-exclusionary and/or under-regulated, like the rest of professional therapy.
I know this isn't what the poll is asking, though. I'm not going to fuck with Keith's science. But I do agree more with Chemda's counterpoint. Driving any big demand underground instead of accommodating it at least enough to keep tabs on it, if only to keep tabs on it, seems unconstructive. It seems like the motivation for doing this is more about trying to manipulate the population idealistically and less about preventing actual problems. Love the new embedded player, btw |

prostitution is like organic farming. there /are/ situations where women are empowered; the in-control, free-range woman is exercising her right. Girl Power and such. then there's the 11 year old in india who was born into a world where this all she knows and is her only choice. they're two separate conversations.

How the fuck is the fucking poll so fucking close????
Chemmo's stance is the only one that logically makes sense. Give women who work in the sex industry a regulated and safer work environment. Sure, they may not love getting fucked in their jobs, but hey, as Keith said, we're all whores. |

A woman will be forced to say it's consensual. At least one. We agree on that?
How many is too many? |

The only thing that will change is they'll have better conditions under Chemda. Why do you hate women so much? Why do you want them to suffer? |

Do you guys remember your early years, like 1st through 4th grade?
I remember a gorgeous teacher (Ms. Stetler, who was wasting her life with the gym teacher), the bitch music teacher wheeling in her piano... I knew I was in love with my kindergarten teacher! See: the color orange. But I don't remember things like Zvi does. |

I do. I have memories here and there from when I was 2 or 3 years old. I remember a lot about pre-school where I was 3 and 4 years old. Once I asked my mum if she could pack me a hard-boiled egg in my lunchbox to take to pre-school, so she did, even though I had never even tried hard-boiled egg in my life. Then it came to lunchtime and I tried it and didn't like it. But you weren't allowed to go play in the playground unless you'd finished your lunch. So I didn't get to play that day. I have a grudge against hard-boiled eggs to this day.
