Viagra like many birth control methods have multiple uses. Viagra was developed for and is still used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension. A side effect is erection which it is also prescribed for. I don't know if insurance companies bother to check what reason a person is taking a medication before deciding if they will reimburse for it.
