Hey there, I'm someone who deals with IBS and I get the frustration. The key is to figure out what foods trigger your IBS. There's a really good chance it's one of the FODMAP carbs. I recommend doing an elimination diet, getting the Monash FODMAP app and going to reddit.com/r/FODMAPS and reading the FAQ.

For me, I have issues with garlic, onions and winter squash. Since cutting those out I hardly ever have intestinal issues.

I too have had a doctor tell me I was fine when I had appendicitis. He said there was no way appendicitis was possible since my stomach hurt for over a week and that I should just get back to work. I had emergency surgery that night (after sitting in the ER waiting room for 5 hours).
