Zhuzh comes from a "secret" language called Polari. Meaning to make some more attractive or exciting, zhuzh and other Polari words were used by gays, sex workers, actors, sailors, and others. The language evolved as early as the 16th century up until it was "outed" in popular media in 1960s England and has since fallen out of fashion. Zhuzh, spelled "zhoosh" is thought to be of Romani origin, but the nature of the language makes it impossible to know for sure where it came from. The language works similarly to Cockney rhyming slang in that you use word and phrases to replace other words (though they don't need to rhyme.) The language developed as a way for people to conduct their lives while confusing the general public about what they were talking about since the lifestyles associated with the language were illegal until more modern times. (Homosexuality was decriminalized in 1967 in England.) Here's a cool image showing the evolution of the language and the people who used it.

Other words include: (think about the movie Clueless) butch, dolly, bevvy, omi and palome (man and woman respectively), omipalome (a person who is a man and a woman.)

If you want to learn more, looks up Paul Baker from the University of Lancaster.

That's all.

I agree with Keith about Taylor Swift. She doesn’t seem genuine-her reactions seem forced and over exaggerated.

I like some songs of hers and she is ok. But I’ve seen people completely obsessed with her and I don’t get it. But it’s doesn’t matter! I’m an uncool German big Pharma manager and a parent ( as a further sign for my uncoolness) so obviously I’m wrong.
Please don’t come for me. I hardly get any extreme obsession with any singer, but I will not give more examples, I already got in trouble with R and K once ( bzzzzz)

BTW, I got a promotion at work ( they didn’t just give it to me. I applied and had to go through multiple rounds of interviews, the process took forever.) and will be a „key account and network manager neurology“ from November on. Expect more smugness.

We just got rid of Verizon FIOS cable and picked up YouTube TV with NFL Sunday Ticket. Way better! Come to the dark side, Keith!

Hearing things slightly out of order, and you talking about rizz was funny because Karen actually used it on the last Last Week. It's a shortened version of charisma, btw 🙂
