I don’t have suicidal thoughts but as I wrote in an extra thread, a very good friend of mine tried to end her life this year and that’s why I’m very close to this topic.
I had to talk to my old therapist about irrational guilty feelings and the fear that she might do it again. |

Keith's description of feeling the urge to jump is so common, it has a fun nickname: "L'appel du vide" (aka The Call of the Void).
Makes me think of that quote from Broken Arrow "I don't know what's scarier, the thing, or that it happens so often there's actually a term for it." |

I've never had a real suicidal thought. When I see an bridge that is incomplete (under renovation or construction) I picture in my mind diving off of it at like 100 mph, having that moment of weightlessness just before the front of my car collides with my skull. When I see a cliff I think of all the ways I could accidently fall off the edge or die saving my son from the fall.
But it's only imagination, I have never and would never really consider it. It's just not in me and I have sessional depression but never includes suicide. |
