3930: Special Needs w/ Murf Meyer

It’s Murf fuckin’ Meyer! Keith and Murf trick you with apparently frivolous thoughts on Superman to help wake you up to the state of the world. Boom! Gotcha! The duo also discusses President Trump overhauling the Smithsonian and history as well as your parents catching your written or drawn “art” as a kid.

Guest:
Murf Meyer

You know you have to share what exactly you got in trouble for, right?

I loved hearing from Murf again. I’m so grateful to people like him who are willing to drive kids with special needs. My son has to take that kind of bus and his driver is so amazing. He loves riding the bus because of her.

I probably should have known better, but in 7th grade I was in geography class and I was drawing/writing on the desk. I wrote "you suck" and the next kid told on me and I had to come in for lunch detention and clean the desks

That's all I remember at the moment.

My daughter’s bus driver is absolutely beloved by parents and kids. He is someone we don’t take for granted one bit.

Regarding ICE, I’ve been having ongoing talks and reminders with my kid “don’t answer no one’s questions about anyone. Never talk to cops or anyone asking questions without your parents.” Cops aren’t always your friend and they’re not always doing the right thing.

I was taught to trust cops. I had to learn on my own that they're the same as everyone else, at best.

I don't remember ever getting in trouble for something I wrote or drew, but I remember in one of my classes I started writing notes to some girl who sat at the same desk during another period. I wrote notes and stuffed them into the desk, she'd do the same. We flirted back and forth (a little; nothing explicit) but we never met.
