Silly? Nooooooooooo. My argument is against Junk's assertion that trust is naive and stupid. I think if it was so silly we (and every other social species) would have died out long ago. But it's my fault if it got confused. By trying to extend an olive branch to the Junkmeister I over-reached by putting skepticism in the same context as pessimism where it doesn't belong. I just wanted to find something to agree with my buddy on and so I isolated a sentence that's basically inarguable since it's really just a definition of surprise and expectation straight out of the dictionary. "If you expect something to happen then you won't be surprised when it happens" is a true statement no matter how much hope you have or don't have in your heart.

Really, us skeptical fuckers are prone to hope up the wazoo. In fact, hope is what drives scientists, and scientists are some of the most skeptical mofos around almost by definition.

To Bucho (and if any of you doesnt ewant to read our arguments, skip it and stop whining):

I dont see myself as a terminal pessimist. I have little faith in people, that is true, but i believe that there's a bunch of good ones out there that will do good things and could actually make things like relationships or more important stuff work.

But they're not a majority. See, i used to believe that if one apllied enough things could always work out in the end. But it hasnt haèppened. Somehow peoople get tired of each other, or simply get selfish. Most of the time they didnt really love the other person and just realize when it's too late.

I believe love exists, but it's so frail that there's a one in a million chance that it could last forever. And the whole justification process that follows cheating, breakups or worse is just a manifactured shield that our yapping mind build to avoid coping that we are, for the most part, ugly beings.

In the end i'd rather live one day at a toime at the fullest than thinking of the future outcomes. Because future doesnt exist, and the chances for it to be perfect arent that many. So love, friendship and life are as good as they are day to day.

When something bad happen, it happens because it's part of life. Trying to explain it or jusify it is a waste of time. Better to move on.

Maybe i am what i am because i got hurt a lot so i became a jaded prick. But i dont think i'm that jaded. I still love the ones i love in an undescribable way, with all my heart and more of it. And i dont want to taint it with thoughts of future accidents. i know they will happen, i wont be surprised, i wont blame anything or anybosy or try to make up my mind about why it happened. That would kill me.

And if i contradict myself is because i'm not a computer and thoughts arent crystal clear in my head.

Well, Petes, italian women are a mixed bunch. There's the house burning, dick cutting ones, but also a couple of very sweet ladies. Also the angriest ones are that way usually because they met some macho womanizing asshole (i've been that, proudly).
