I like to imagine you walking down the street with headphones on shouting at Keith in some kind of imaginary dialog - too cute ![]() |

Polked Fun
Chemda, sorry you went thru that harassment crap. I been at the racial harassment end of that living here in Washington State. It's funny because when I lived in Brooklyn and the kids were calling me out to be gook, it wasn't in an angry cadence like being called a Nerd. But when I went to high school in Bellevue, (the whitest of white schools) and the lacross team jumped me and told me to go back to my country it hurt far worse. And it didn't help that these fuckers had lacross sticks to beat me with. And even as an adult I've had instances where I went on a date where my white date noticed how these other whites were eye-balling us and it made her nervous enough not to date any longer.
But that is fine. I saw it as a test of the integrity of the relationship and I rather see weakness earily than late---and you should also. You have each other and that's saying a lot. BTW. I recently signed up for reoccurring payments and you guys are worth every penny. |

I think the poll is going to be biased based on sex. However, let's say I woke up in the middle of the night and my girlfriend wasn't in bed. I get up, get a drink, then join her on the couch. If she's watching wrestling my reaction would be to to laugh and look at her to say "really?". If she was watching Sex in the City my reaction would be "give me the fucking remote, we're not watching this bullshit".
While I don't watch wrestling or Sex in the City, I've at least watched wrestling at some point. I have never seen more than one minute of Sex in the City and I'm proud of that. GENTLEMAN POWER |

The stuff with you is different, I'm always going to do it whenever you complain about people not understanding you because I think it's fun to do. You spent years trolling these forums, and now it's backfiring, and I want to enjoy that (because KATG is my entertainment). I literally giggle every time I post about this because I know you'll retaliate with calling me a groupie/missing the mark/etc and it's going to be a cool read. Oh, and my response to "you made me laugh" wasn't clueless, I was just trying to make you laugh more, and I enjoyed your response to that because I imagine you wrote it slightly frustrated that I so moronically missed your sarcasm. Normally I don't care when Keith and/or Chemda are factually wrong on the show. Most of the time it's a quick mention of something inaccurate, but the discussion of slaves counting as three-fifths of a person is just bugging me.
What you're talking about is known as "The Three-Fifths Compromise", and it had absolutely NOTHING to do with black people voting. The Three-Fifths compromise happened nearly 100 years before the black people gained the right to vote (the 15th amendment), which didn't really give them the right to vote until the Civil Rights Act was passed in 60's. Slaves counted as 3/5 of a person when deciding the number of representatives a state would get in The US House of Representatives. The population of the south was so much less dense back then (like it's not now) that this was the compromise they came to. |
