2 lbs. of cottage cheese, 8 strawberries, 1/2 pint blueberries, 1/2 pint raspberries, and 4 cups of Cheerios.

"You see my point is, this is the food I like to eat."

This is what YOU said on the show, Mike.

No, it's not unfathomable that you like to eat this on a daily basis. It just sounds AWFUL to eat it on a DAILY basis, or even a near daily basis.

I was trying to maintain my weight (180) while trying to still lose body fat percentage but I had a very high workout schedule basically 7 days a week. If I needed to safely lose I could eat around 500 a day or so. I've done the low carb diet and my weight just drops like a rock in a week or two.

I've been watching 'America's Got Talent' (don't you judge me), and have been super surprised that Howard Stern and Howie Mandel gave these stand-ups so much credit. I wanna respect them both but eeeshhh....

Comedy is like a fine wine.

I have a theory about how the general public enjoys their comedy. I think the majority of the population doesn't need smart punchlines, the obvious works for them. They don't listen to comedy often so when the hear a hack joke where we can all see the punchline coming they don't. I noticed this because most people I've met think that things like John Pinette and Two and a Half Men are funny. So my theory is that people need to hear comedy often to develop a taste for good jokes. If they don't hear comedy often they can't see where bad jokes are going and honestly can't tell the difference between a handstand Dane Cook joke and a well crafted Louis Ck joke.

I've learn't I can't talk comedy with the general public because if I say "Check out this awesome comic Pat Dixon, he's brilliant." they turn around and recommend a Dane Cook or some shit that lowers my respect for them.

I agree with you. Most people have no idea what is good or original.

Mike is correct about aspartame; There has never been a peer-reviewed study showing aspartame to be unsafe, and it's one of the most studied food additives ever following the hoaxes about its safety in the 1970s

It is known that aspartame metabolizes into methanol, and then into formaldehyde, and it's entirely possible to be sensitive to methanol and its metabolites.

It also metabolizes to phenylalanine which can modify (by being a precursor for) dopamine levels in the brain.

However, none of these mechanisms for action are shown to be unsafe when used at typical doses. The study which found it caused cancer in rats had administered already toxic levels of aspartame in a nutritionally deficient diet, ignoring the fact that rats do not have the same metabolic systems as humans.

As long as you all understand that I eat it BY CHOICE. I enjoy it and therefore I eat it whenever possible because it has a wonderful nutritional profile (though the Cheerios are the weakest link and I no longer add it to the dish). I could easily change it to rotisserie chicken, baked fish, milk, Greek yogurt or certain types of steak. The important thing to recognize is that they are all lean proteins. I eat cottage cheese because I can make it into a sweet dish. It's a habit I picked up when I was losing weight because there is a significant lack of high protein desserts to fit into a diet with high compliance factor.

The most important thing about any diet is that it is agreeable to the user. A zero carb diet is undeniably effective but it is an incredibly difficult lifestyle to maintain. For me, going weeks with very few sweet foods drove me nuts and necessity is the mother of invention. Sometimes I can go several days without eating savory foods. That's just my preference.

As I was listening to the America's Got Talent clip I was having a sense of Deja Vu, and I couldn't place it. By the end I realized I had heard that exact same bit, exactly, on Comedy Central.

Here's Tom Cotter from like ten years ago:
Tom Cotter - Stupid Phrases - Video Clip | Comedy Centrals Jokes.com

It was funnier when I was in middle school.
