Concerning the skits on rap songs, here's a few I think are funny.

MC Chris -- Hell

MC Chris -- Metaphor

As funny as those are, they're not a fair sample rap. MC Chris is not a "serious" rapper. I feel like a dick saying that because he's awesome but you know what I mean.

Here's a link to my research journal. You can also check out the front page where the teacher outlines his objectives in teaching the class through Second Life. ps545spring09 / PopMusicGood Woodford

I have become a huge Ellis fan after reading Crooked Little Vein in class. CLV is one of my favorite books now and I'm looking forward to reading more of Ellis this summer.

Amen! And on that note I'd like to point out the number one basketball recruit in the country, John Wall, just signed with Kentucky. He didn't sign with Duke or Kansas. John Wall - Basketball Recruiting

And we're trying to have Midnight Madness in the football stadium this year. 70,000 fans watching the first practice of the season will kick ass!

In the first book we read for the class, Coming of Age in Second Life by Tom Boellstroff, this very topic was discussed. He talks about how people with high functioning autism and other diseases or disabilities can get a vague college experience on Second Life. By "moving" into a home on SL they can get the sense of how it is to move into a dorm. They can also attend lectures on the islands of some of the many schools on SL.

You forgot Brian and Kevin from the Backstreet Boys. George Clooney, Diane Sawyer, and Naomi and Wynonna Judd.

Ashley Judd (a UK alum), and Tom Cruise were also raised in Kentucky.

It was PopMusicGood Woodford (an wink to Patrice). I don't use it anymore though so you won't find me.

When you shoot yourself in the foot, do you try to blow off the toes on one first, or do you swing back and forth, blowing off toes at random?

Eh, he's definately a nerd--there's a reason why he self-labels himself as "nerdcore rap" for a reason--but I wouldn't call him not serious.

Also, while listening through it--someone's mentioned what Crooked Little Vein is (which is a good book that does create interesting thoughts about what is considered "normal" in today's society), the other one, Content, is a series of articles by a sci-fi writer named Cory Doctorow, which you can read for free here.

MC Chris doesn't like to be called or associated with "nerdcore" apparently.

...Oh. Well, I was proven wrong. You win this round, sir.

To be fair though, to my knowledge he doesn't say that he's a comedic rapper, either.

Right... well, unfortunately my sweet boyfriend would probably be hurt by my using my vagina to make someone cry that wasn't him. So Intern, two ships passing in the night, what could have been, we'll always have this conversation that didn't even involve you in any way. Plenty of more willing fat angry vag in the sea etc.
