Just to sum up the heirarchy of "writers"

Danielewski - wrote the entire book you are reading as a work of fiction, though he uses Johnny Truant as the fictional narrator.

Navidson - The guy who documented the incident in the house on film.

Zampano - The old guy who died that was creating a sort of report on the the film Navidson created.

Johnny Truant - The "author" of the the book you're reading. He and his friend Lude (or Flaze) found Zampano dead. Truant also found Zampano's report on Navidson's film and has compiled it into the book you are reading.

And if you guys missed it, everything Truant adds to Zampano's original is in Courier. Times stuff are all in original Zampano's manuscript.
